Auburn Hills, MI – Courtesy Patrol Vehicle Struck on I-75, Two Injured

Auburn Hills, MI (May 24, 2025) – A driver was arrested on Saturday, May 24, after striking a Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) Courtesy Patrol vehicle along northbound Interstate 75 near Auburn Hills. According to the Auburn Hills Police Department, the incident occurred when a driver didn’t move over for the MDOT vehicle, which was assisting a stranded motorist on the side of the highway. Both the driver of the MDOT vehicle and the other motorist sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Emergency personnel responded to the scene and provided medical care. One of the injured was transported to a nearby hospital, while the other was evaluated and treated on-site. The driver responsible for the collision was arrested on suspicion of reckless driving and failure to comply with Michigan’s Move Over Law. The Auburn Hills Police Department has launched a formal investigation.
