Bartow Co, GA – Injuries in Truck Crash on I-75 SB at Allatoona Gtwy

Bartow Co, GA (May 6, 2025) – A two-vehicle crash injury occurred on Tuesday morning, May 6, on I-75 southbound at Allatoona Gateway (Exit 278), involving a large commercial truck and a passenger vehicle. The collision resulted in the closure of the right lane and major traffic delays stretching approximately five miles.

The crash was reported shortly before 9:40 a.m. According to Bartow County officials and Georgia DOT, the truck veered into the right lane, where it collided with a car attempting to merge onto the highway. The force of the impact left both vehicles disabled on the roadway, with the truck partially blocking the exit area and leaking fluids.

Bartow County Fire and EMS responded immediately to the scene, along with Georgia State Patrol troopers. Firefighters worked to secure the truck, contain a minor fuel spill, and assist with extrication. One individual sustained moderate injuries, including back and shoulder pain, and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for further evaluation. The truck driver was treated on scene and did not require hospitalization.

Traffic was significantly affected as responders managed the scene and cleared debris. Authorities advised drivers to seek alternate routes.
