Bibb Co, GA – Two Hospitalized After Crash Involving 18-Wheeler and Sedan on I-75

Bibb Co, GA (April 30, 2025) – A two-vehicle crash injury occurred Wednesday afternoon in Bibb County, Georgia, on the southbound lanes of Interstate 75. The incident involved an 18-wheeler and a sedan and resulted in both drivers being transported to the hospital, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities stated that the crash happened shortly before 6:00 p.m. under still-unclear circumstances. The collision caused significant damage to the front end of the sedan, which came to rest in the median, while the semi-truck blocked part of the right lane. Emergency services responded quickly to the scene and assessed the injured.

A 27-year-old female sedan driver was transported with head trauma and a fractured wrist. The truck driver, a 52-year-old man, sustained a shoulder injury and minor chest bruising due to impact with the steering wheel. Both were taken to Atrium Health Navicent for treatment. Their conditions have been reported as stable.

Fire crews helped secure the crash site and contain diesel spillage from the semi. The Georgia State Patrol is leading the investigation into the cause of the crash. Delays extended for over an hour as cleanup operations were underway.
