Bradenton, FL – I-75 Five-Vehicle Chain-Reaction Crash near State Rd 64 leaves Three injured

Bradenton, FL (January 9, 2023) – Emergency crews across Manatee County responded to the scene of a major traffic accident that took place on Saturday afternoon that left multiple people injured. Calls for assistance were received at around 550 p.m. on January 7.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, five vehicle chain reaction collision took place on Interstate 5. The incident blocked multiple northbound lanes in the area near State Road 64.

Preliminary reports show that an SUV failed to maintain a proper distance during a congested traffic area. As a result, it struck the vehicle in front of it, causing three other cars to be involved.

Three people were hurt in the accident and had to be transported to area hospitals.

The Florida Highway Patrol is currently investigating.
