Brandon, FL – Fatal Crash on I-75 N near SR-618 Ramp, Man Loses Life

Brandon, FL (November 2, 2023) – A tragic incident occurred on November 2nd, a Temple Terrace man lost his life in a devastating crash that forced the closure of all northbound lanes on Interstate 75 in Brandon.

The Florida Highway Patrol reported that the accident occurred around 11:40 a.m. when a Land Rover SUV, driven by a 56-year-old woman from Clearwater, failed to negotiate a curve while entering the eastbound ramp from SR-618 to northbound I-75.

The Land Rover veered off the road and entered the access ramp, colliding with the passenger side of a Toyota SUV. Both vehicles careened through the grass shoulder before coming to a rest in the northbound lanes of I-75.

Tragically, during the collision, the Toyota SUV overturned, and its 50-year-old driver, a resident of Temple Terrace, was ejected from the vehicle. He was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital but, sadly, succumbed to his injuries later on. Meanwhile, the 56-year-old woman driving the Land Rover escaped the crash without any injuries.

The authorities are actively conducting investigations to determine the exact circumstances surrounding this devastating accident.
