Brookwood, GA – Accident with Injuries Reported on I-75 near I-85

Brookwood, GA (January 25, 2023) – The Georgia Highway Patrol assisted area firefighters out of Brookwood at the scene of a traffic crash on Tuesday evening that resulted in injuries.

At approximately 4:10 p.m., on January 24, emergency officials received a notification that a traffic crash had occurred on Interstate 75.

According to reports from Georgia Highway Patrol, a traffic collision blocked the southbound Interstate 75 exit ramp to Interstate 85 northbound exit 251. Emergency officials were notified of the accident by the Georgia Department of Transportation.

The incident prompted officials to close off several lanes in the area as they provided assistance at the scene.

Emergency crews remained at the scene for an extended period as they worked to remove the vehicles that were damaged and debris from the road.

Paramedics were called to care for injured victims and to provide them with transportation to local hospitals.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation at this time.
