Buena Vista Twp, MI – Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-75 Near M-46 Leaves Injuries
Buena Vista Township, MI (January 31, 2025) – A multi-vehicle collision occurred on northbound Interstate 75 near M-46 in Buena Vista Township on the morning of Wednesday, January 29, leaving a Michigan State Police (MSP) trooper and two other drivers injured. The crash occurred around 6:45 a.m. while the trooper was investigating an earlier accident on the highway. According to MSP, a 50-year-old Flint man driving a northbound vehicle crashed into the trooper’s patrol car, which was parked at the scene. The impact pushed the patrol vehicle into the first stopped car involved in the initial crash.
The trooper, who was outside his vehicle at the time, sustained non-life-threatening injuries after jumping out of the way to avoid being struck. The occupants of the first vehicle also suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The driver of the striking vehicle was arrested at the scene on charges of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. Authorities are investigating the incident to determine the full circumstances of the crash.
