Butts Co, GA – Injury Crash on I-75 NB at MM 204 Near SR 16

Butts Co, GA (May 12, 2025) – A crash with injuries disrupted traffic on I-75 North in Butts County on Monday morning leading to major delays. According to the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT), the incident occurred just before State Route 16 near mile marker 204 and resulted in the blockage of two out of three northbound lanes.

Emergency responders arrived on the scene shortly after the crash was reported. The collision involved multiple vehicles, and first responders with Butts County Fire & EMS performed on-site assessments. At least one person sustained moderate injuries, including a reported shoulder injury from the impact and glass cuts. That individual was transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment. Additional victims were treated at the scene but declined further care.

Georgia State Patrol officers and GDOT crews worked to manage the traffic buildup while clearing the wreckage. Motorists were urged to use caution in the area and expect delays through at least 9:30 a.m., the estimated clearance time.

Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash. No citations have been issued at this stage.
