Chattanooga, TN – Multiple Injuries and Fatalities in Crash on I-75

Chattanooga, TN (May 11, 2025) – A deadly multi-vehicle collision occurred on May 11 in Hamilton County, prompting a swift response from the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) and East Ridge Police Department. The incident occurred on Interstate 75 and involved six passenger vehicles and a tractor-trailer. According to officials, two of the vehicles were engulfed in flames by the time emergency crews arrived at the scene. Multiple occupants were trapped and had to be extricated from their vehicles by responding personnel.

First responders, including the East Ridge Fire Department and Hamilton County EMS, immediately began lifesaving procedures. Although the total number of victims remains unconfirmed, authorities have acknowledged that the crash resulted in at least one fatality and multiple injuries. Some of the injured were assessed on-site, while others were transported to nearby hospitals for further treatment. Authorities are currently working to identify the victims and notify next of kin. Investigators from THP, in coordination with East Ridge Police, have launched a full inquiry into what led to the crash.
