Chattanooga, TN – Pedestrian Struck and Killed in Crash on I-75/Bonny Oaks Dr.

Chattanooga, TN (October 17, 2024) – A tragic accident occurred on Thursday morning, October 17, when a pedestrian was struck and killed in a multi-vehicle crash on I-75 near Exit 7 at Bonny Oaks Drive. The incident happened around 7:00 a.m., prompting a swift response from the Chattanooga Police Department. According to initial reports, a 25-year-old man was walking in the lanes of the interstate when he was struck by one of the vehicles involved in a three-car collision near the exit. The Chattanooga Fire Department and Hamilton County EMS confirmed through video evidence that the pedestrian had been walking on the roadway moments before the fatal impact. Unfortunately, by the time emergency responders arrived, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. It remains unclear why the man was walking on the interstate. Authorities have not released the victim’s identity, and an investigation is ongoing to determine the accident’s circumstances.
