Chattanooga, TN – Wrong-Way Crash on I-75 Leaves One Dead and Another Injured
Chattanooga, TN (November 5, 2024) – A tragic wrong-way crash happened early Tuesday, November 5, on I-75, leading to one death and one severe injury. Around 3:00 a.m., Chattanooga Police reported that a 20-year-old man was driving a Ford Excursion south on the northbound lanes of I-75. Near mile marker 2.4, the Ford collided head-on with a Dodge Ram, critically injuring a 32-year-old man inside. Soon after, a semi-truck struck the Dodge Ram, worsening the accident. Chattanooga Fire Department and Hamilton County EMS responded quickly. Despite their efforts, the wrong-way driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The injured driver received care before being taken to a nearby hospital. Sergeant Victor Miller of Chattanooga Police confirmed that the northbound lanes of I-75 were briefly closed as responders worked to clear the area. The crash investigation is ongoing.
