Cincinnati, OH – Fatal Crash on I-75 Near Western Hills
Cincinnati, OH (February 19, 2025) – A fatal car crash occurred on Saturday evening on I-75 near the Western Hills Viaduct exit, resulting in the tragic death of 37-year-old Luis Rodriguez Jose. The incident, reported by the Cincinnati Police Department, happened just before 6:30 p.m.
According to Sergeant Steven Fox of the Cincinnati Police Department, Rodriguez Jose was driving a 2018 Subaru Impreza north on I-75 when he lost control of the vehicle. The car veered off the right side of the road, striking a guardrail before re-entering the roadway. At that moment, the Subaru was hit by a 2016 Volvo commercial vehicle traveling in the same direction.
The 39-year-old driver of the commercial vehicle was not injured in the crash. Rodriguez Jose was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center with serious injuries. Unfortunately, despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his wounds shortly after his arrival.
Speed is being investigated as a potential contributing factor to the accident, but authorities have confirmed that impairment was not a factor. Both drivers were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash.
Our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of Luis Rodriguez Jose during this difficult time. Our thoughts are with them as they navigate this unimaginable loss.
