Clayton Co, GA – I-75 N Crash Near Mt Zion Blvd Causes Injuries

Clayton Co, GA (April 7, 2025) – A crash occurred on Monday evening, April 7, on northbound Interstate 75 at Mt. Zion Boulevard (mile marker 231.2), blocking two left lanes and resulting in injuries. The Georgia Department of Transportation reported the incident shortly before 7:30 p.m., urging drivers to proceed with caution through the affected area.

First responders from the Clayton County Fire and Emergency Services, along with local law enforcement, arrived at the scene to provide aid and secure the crash site. At least one individual was injured and transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The nature and extent of the injuries have not yet been disclosed.

Firefighters assisted with vehicle stabilization and debris removal while police officers directed northbound traffic around the blocked lanes. Road Rangers were also deployed to assist with the clearing process and to ensure the safety of oncoming motorists.

The crash caused heavy congestion in the area during the early evening commute, though GDOT estimated a full clearance around 7:28 p.m. Authorities remained on site to conduct an investigation and document the incident.
