Clayton Co, GA – Two Injured in I-75 SB Crash Near Tara Blvd
Clayton Co, GA (April 24, 2025) – A two-car crash injury occurred Thursday afternoon on the southbound lanes of I-75 before the Tara Blvd (Exit 235) off-ramp in Clayton County, resulting in at least one person sustaining serious injuries and causing significant traffic disruption.
The collision happened shortly before 1:00 p.m., prompting an emergency response from Clayton County Fire & Emergency Services, local police units, and EMS. Two right lanes of I-75 were shut down, leading to extensive backups extending northward toward the I-285 interchange.
According to authorities, one of the vehicles involved was severely damaged, and a person had to be extricated by firefighters using specialized equipment. That individual suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was rushed by ambulance to a nearby hospital for treatment. A second person reportedly suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene. The identities of those involved have not yet been disclosed.
The Georgia State Patrol is currently investigating the cause of the crash. Preliminary reports suggest that speed and congestion may have contributed to the collision, though official findings are pending.
Motorists were advised to take alternate routes, including Hwy 19/41, Hwy 54, or I-675, while cleanup crews worked to clear the scene and restore the flow of traffic.
