Clayton County, GA – Driver Fatally Struck by Tractor-Trailer After Crashing on I-75 near Mt. Zion Blvd

Clayton County, GA (July 10, 2023) – A tragic accident occurred on Interstate 75, resulting in the death of a driver who was struck by a tractor-trailer. The incident occurred on the northbound lanes of I-75 before Mt. Zion Boulevard at around 1:09 a.m. on Monday, July 10th.

According to Clayton County police, the initial crash involved multiple vehicles. The first driver lost control of their car and collided with the inside barrier wall, leaving the vehicle partially obstructing the left lane while resting against the wall.

Shortly afterward, a second vehicle traveling in the far left lane collided with the disabled car, rendering both vehicles immobile in two additional lanes on I-75.

Tragically, when the driver of the second vehicle exited their car, they were struck by a passing tractor-trailer. The impact proved fatal, and authorities have withheld the victim’s identity pending notification of their next of kin.
