Cobb Co., GA – Fatal Pedestrian Crash on I-75 N near Terrell Mill Rd

Cobb County, GA (December 26, 2025) – A pedestrian was killed on Tuesday night after being struck by a police SUV on Interstate 75 in Cobb County.

According to the Cobb County Police Department, the fatal crash took place on December 23, around 8:56 p.m., in the northbound lanes of I-75 within the Northwest Corridor near Terrell Mill Road.

Investigators said the pedestrian was walking along the interstate when, for reasons still under investigation, he entered the right travel lane. A 2019 black Chevrolet Tahoe struck the man. The vehicle involved was a marked DeKalb County Police Department SUV.

Authorities confirmed the Tahoe was being driven by an off-duty DeKalb County police officer at the time of the crash. The officer was not injured.

The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Cobb County Medical Examiner’s Office. His identity has not yet been released.
