Protect Your Legal Rights After an I-75 Accident

Columbus, OH – Kimberly Siegrist, Lauren Hahn, Karen Boehne, and Jeremy Boehne Killed in Truck Crash on I-75Being involved in a car crash is a very real possibility when driving on Interstate 75, but there are some things you can do to protect yourself. If you’re driving on Interstate I-75, take extra caution to avoid congestion, be safe around trucks and commercial vehicles, and maintain a safe speed.

Congestion is one of the leading causes of car crashes on Interstate 75, so do your best to avoid it if you are able to do so. If you see that traffic is starting to back up, slow down and give yourself plenty of space between you and the car in front of you. And if you find yourself in stop-and-go traffic, pay close attention to the cars around you so that you can react quickly if someone suddenly changes lanes or stops short.

Be cautious around commercial vehicle traffic as well. Given the importance of Interstate 75, it is no surprise that it sees its fair share of trucks and commercial vehicles traveling on it every day. Trucks and other commercial vehicles are much larger than passenger cars, so it’s important to give them plenty of space on the road. If you’re passing a truck, make sure you’re in the lane farthest from them before moving over.

Finally, speeding is another leading cause of crashes that we see on Interstate 75. For this reason, maintaining a safe speed is also crucial for avoiding car accidents. Even if the posted speed limit is higher than what you’re comfortable driving, it’s always better to err on the side of caution. While traveling during inclement weather, it’s even more important to slow down and drive carefully.
