Crisp Co, GA – Fatal Wrong-Way Crash on I-75

Crisp Co, GA (February 19, 2025) – A tragic wrong-way crash occurred on Interstate 75 in Crisp County early Wednesday morning, February 19, 2025, claiming the lives of both drivers. The accident, which happened at approximately 1:00 a.m. near mile marker 103, just north of Cordele, was confirmed by the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office.

According to the investigation, Cassidy Lott Esterson, 35, from Douglas, was driving northbound in the southbound lanes of I-75 when she collided with a vehicle driven by Desiaree Coley, 27. A motorist had called 911 moments before the crash, alerting authorities to a wrong-way vehicle traveling on I-75. Deputies arrived at the scene shortly after the crash, but both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.

As part of the ongoing investigation, blood samples from both drivers have been sent to the state crime lab for further analysis. The sheriff’s office continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding this tragic accident.
