Detroit, MI – Fatal Head-On Collision on I-75 Near the Lodge Freeway Claims One Life

Detroit, MI (October 13, 2023) – A tragic incident occurred in the early hours of October 13th when a fatal head-on collision took place on the northbound lanes of I-75 near The Lodge Freeway and Trumbull in Detroit. This unfortunate event resulted in the loss of one life.

The Michigan State Police received several distress calls reporting a wrong-way driver traveling north in the southbound lanes of the Lodge from Larnd. Troopers quickly responded to the scene, but they were unable to prevent a head-on collision between the wrong-way driver, who was operating a Ford Fusion, and another vehicle, a GMC Sierra pickup.

Regrettably, the at-fault driver, whose identity has not been disclosed, lost their life at the scene, as confirmed by the police. On the other hand, the driver of the Sierra sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for medical evaluation and treatment.

Local law enforcement authorities are actively investigating the crash to determine the causes and circumstances that led to this tragic collision.
