Detroit, MI — Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash Claims Life of Ohio Man on I-75
Detroit, MI (February 3, 2025) — A tragic hit-and-run incident claimed the life of a 42-year-old Ohio man on Sunday night, February 2, according to the Michigan State Police (MSP). The fatal crash occurred around 7:45 p.m. in the northbound lanes of Interstate 75 near West Grand Boulevard in Detroit. Authorities responded to multiple reports of a man running in the freeway lanes, raising concerns from passing motorists.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the man lying unresponsive in the left lane. Despite their immediate response, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s identity has not been publicly released pending full family notification, but authorities confirmed he was a resident of Ohio.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the man had been struck by an unknown vehicle, whose driver fled the scene without stopping to render aid or contact emergency services.
