Detroit, MI – Semi-Truck Overturns in Crash on I-75 SB/I-375, Injuries Reported

Detroit, MI (March 15, 2025) – A major crash involving a semi-truck occurred on March 15 on southbound I-75 at the I-375 interchange, leading to injuries and a hazardous oil spill. According to the Michigan State Police (MSP) and the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT), the crash happened around 9:30 a.m. when a semi-truck lost control, overturned, and spilled oil onto the roadway. The incident prompted an immediate emergency response. First responders treated at least one injured individual at the scene before they were taken to a nearby hospital for further medical care. The extent of their injuries has not yet been released. Due to the crash and the oil spill, the ramp from southbound I-75 to southbound I-375 was closed for several hours as crews worked to contain the hazardous material and remove the overturned semi-truck.
