East Ridge, TN – Deadly Multi-Vehicle Crash Involving Semi on I-75

East Ridge, TN (May 15, 2025) – A devastating crash involving six passenger vehicles and a tractor-trailer occurred Sunday near the Tennessee-Georgia border, resulting in multiple fatalities and serious injuries along Interstate 75 in the East Ridge area, just outside Chattanooga.

Emergency services were dispatched following reports of a fiery collision involving numerous vehicles. The crash scene, described as chaotic by first responders, featured at least two vehicles engulfed in flames upon impact. Several individuals were trapped and required extrication by fire crews.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol confirmed that fatalities occurred in the collision, though the exact number has not yet been released. Injured victims were transported to area hospitals for treatment after being assisted by teams from the Chattanooga Police Department, Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, and East Ridge emergency units.

The accident, which happened during the afternoon hours of May 11, led to significant shutdowns on Interstate 75. Authorities reported that all injured individuals had been evacuated by 6:45 p.m., but closures and delays were expected to continue into the evening as investigators processed the scene and removed wreckage.
