Englewood, OH – Fatal Three-Vehicle Crash Claims Life of Wisconsin Woman on I on I-75 Near mm 66
Englewood, OH (September 21, 2023) – On the morning of September 21st, a fatal three-vehicle crash occurred on Interstate 75, taking the life of a Wisconsin woman.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Dayton Post reported that the crash occurred at around 6:03 a.m. on Thursday, near milepost 66 in Monroe Township, along the northbound lanes of I-75.
In the initial investigation, a 2019 International semi-truck, driven by 26-year-old Christopher Barker of Lebanon, veered off the left side and hit the median barrier. The truck then slowed down while partly in the left lane and shoulder. Shortly after, a 2022 Dodge Charger, driven by 42-year-old Sandra Willis of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, rear-ended the semi-trailer.
As a result of this collision, the Charger was forcefully pushed across the northbound lanes and crashed into a 2017 Chevrolet Equinox, operated by 57-year-old Raymond Samworth of New Lebanon.
Sadly, Sandra Willis was ejected from the Dodge Charger because she wasn’t wearing a seatbelt. The Equinox also left the road on the right side, went through the fence, and struck a tree.
Emergency responders from Tipp City Fire/EMS quickly took Sandra Willis to Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy, where she was later pronounced dead. Her family has been informed of this tragic loss.
Raymond Samworth, the driver of the Chevrolet Equinox, was taken to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton by Vandalia Fire/EMS with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol is still investigating the circumstances of this tragic accident.
Our thoughts are with the affected families, and we wish a speedy recovery to the injured.
