Findlay, OH – School Bus and Pickup Truck Collision on I-75 at Trenton Avenue Results Injuries

Findlay, OH (October 14, 2023) – A Findlay City School bus collided with a pickup truck near I-75 in Findlay on Friday, October 13th, resulting in injuries to multiple individuals, as reported by the Ohio State Highway Patrol. The incident happened at Trenton Avenue and I-75 junction around 11 p.m.

According to the police, a Ford pickup truck driven by Craig A. Meyers was heading eastbound on U.S. Route 224 when it was struck by a Findlay City School District bus coming from I-75 southbound to US Route 224, driven by Janet K. Routzon, a 74-year-old Findlay resident.

Both vehicles went off the road after the impact and came to a stop on I-75 southbound, according to the patrol’s report.

Craig A. Meyers, the pickup truck driver, and an adult passenger, Ivy McClanahan, 36, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to Blanchard Valley Hospital by ambulance, as stated by the patrol.

Of the 31 students on the school bus, three had non-life-threatening injuries and were also taken to Blanchard Valley Hospital. Janet K. Routzon, the bus driver, was not injured, according to the patrol.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
