Fulton Co, GA – Crash With Injuries Blocks HOV Ln on I-75 N
Fulton Co, GA (May 6, 2025) – A two-car crash injury occurred on Tuesday morning, May 6, on Interstate 75 northbound just before Northside Drive (mile marker 251.7), resulting in the closure of the High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lane and prompting a rapid emergency response in the heart of Fulton County.
The collision was reported shortly after 8:00 a.m., during peak commuter hours. According to the Georgia Department of Transportation, two vehicles collided near the HOV lane, with one car reportedly making an unsafe lane change that led to the impact. The crash left one vehicle disabled in the HOV lane and caused heavy traffic congestion.
Atlanta Fire Rescue and local police units responded to the scene immediately. Firefighters secured the area while paramedics rendered aid to the injured. One adult driver sustained moderate injuries, including a suspected arm fracture and head trauma, and was transported to a local hospital. The other driver was treated on the scene and later released.
Traffic in the area was severely affected, and cleanup crews worked quickly to restore flow. Authorities estimated the scene would be cleared by 7:40 a.m., though residual delays lingered beyond that time.
