Fulton Co, GA – Crash with Injuries on I-75/85 NB
Fulton Co, GA (April 15, 2025) – An injury crash occurred on April 15 in the Midtown area of Atlanta on Interstate 75/85 northbound just before the 17th St exit (Exit 251), blocking the second left lane and causing significant congestion throughout the downtown corridor. The incident took place during the evening rush hour, around 7:15 p.m., and quickly resulted in a traffic jam stretching well past I-20.
Local law enforcement, along with Atlanta Fire Rescue and EMS crews, responded swiftly to the scene. The crash involved at least one vehicle obstructing the second lane from the left, although the total number of vehicles has not yet been confirmed. Emergency responders assessed the individuals involved, and at least one person was treated for minor injuries on site. No fatalities have been reported.
Firefighters worked to clear debris and manage a possible fluid spill while officers directed traffic around the blockage. Tow trucks were also dispatched to remove the disabled vehicle and restore normal traffic flow. The heavy volume on I-75/85 NB caused extended delays through Midtown, and drivers were urged to use alternate routes where possible.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and updates may be provided as new information is released.
Our thoughts are with those injured in this crash, and we hope for a full and speedy recovery.
