Fulton Co, GA – Injuries in Crash on I-75/85 NB at University Ave
Fulton Co, GA (May 6, 2025) – A two-car crash injury occurred in the early morning hours of May 6 on the northbound lanes of Interstate 75/85 at University Avenue (Exit 244) in Atlanta, leading to multiple lane closures and emergency response activity.
The accident was reported around 4:27 a.m., when multiple vehicles collided near the busy interchange just south of downtown. According to the Georgia Department of Transportation and Atlanta Police, at least two vehicles were involved in the crash. The impact caused significant damage to one of the cars, which came to rest blocking the center and right lanes.
Emergency medical services, Atlanta Fire Rescue, and local police quickly responded to the scene. Firefighters assisted in clearing wreckage and assessing hazards, while EMS crews treated one injured driver on site before transporting them to a nearby hospital for further evaluation. The injured victim was reported to have sustained non-life-threatening injuries, including facial lacerations and possible fractures. Another person involved in the crash declined medical treatment.
Traffic remained severely backed up for over an hour as crews worked to reopen the affected lanes. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and no charges have been filed at this time.
