Gainesville, FL – Fiery Crash with Injuries Reported on I-75 near SR-222

Gainesville, FL (March 4, 2023) – A car caught on fire following a motor vehicle accident that took place in LA to accounting on Friday morning, March 3.

At around 2:00 a.m., the Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a car crash that took place on Interstate 75.

Official reports indicate that a collision between vehicles occurred on the southbound side of the interstate. The incident caused disruptions in the area near Florida State route 222.

One of the vehicles involved in the crash caught on fire. Emergency crews arrived at the scene and blocked off the two left lanes of travel while working to extinguish the blaze.

Medics were called to care for the victims who suffered injuries. Those who required further care were transported to local hospitals.

Florida Highway Patrol is actively investigating the crash.
