Gainesville, FL – I-75 Accident with Injuries Reported near SR-24

Gainesville, FL (March 5, 2023) – At 10:15 p.m. on March 3, troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol out of Alachua responded to the scene of a car crash in the Gainesville area.

According to reports provided by FHP, an automobile accident blocked the northbound side of Interstate 75. Authorities responded to the scene of the accident and located damage to vehicles blocking two left lanes of travel near Florida State Route 24.

Emergency crews immediately closed off a portion of the roadway as they worked to remove debris and damaged vehicles.

Emergency medical services were requested at the scene. Medics rendered aid to the injured victims before transporting them to local hospitals.

The circumstances surrounding the accident are under investigation.
