Georgetown, KY – Injury Accident Reported on I-75 near Cynthiana Rd

Georgetown, KY (January 29, 2023) – A vehicle accident was reported in Scott County on Friday morning that resulted in injuries. On January 27, the Scott County Sheriff’s office responded to the scene of a traffic crash on Interstate 75.

According to officials, icy road conditions led to a traffic accident blocking the southbound side of Interstate 75 during the evening hours. The incident prompted authorities to close off the roadway near mile marker 126 at Cynthiana Road.

Emergency crews remained at the scene extensively as they worked to reopen the road.

At least one person involved in the crash suffered injuries and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital.

The circumstances surrounding the accident are currently being investigated.
