Georgetown, KY – Woman Fatally Struck on I-75 at MM 139
Georgetown, KY (October 28, 2024) – In the early hours of October 28, a tragic accident took place on Interstate 75 in Scott County, leading to the death of a Northern Kentucky woman.Around 3:58 a.m., Scott County deputies found the woman, identified as 32-year-old Peggy Brennan, lying in the middle lane of I-75 near the 139-mile marker. Sadly, authorities confirmed Brennan had already passed away by the time they arrived. According to the Georgetown Scott County Collision Investigation Unit, Brennan was reportedly standing in the middle lane when a 2020 Nissan SUV struck her. The driver of the SUV remained at the scene, fully cooperating with the investigation. Scott County officials have stated that drugs and alcohol do not appear to have played a role in the accident. The crash caused a temporary shutdown of the roadway, with traffic resuming after approximately two hours once authorities cleared the scene. The Georgetown Scott County Collision Investigation Unit continues to investigate the circumstances of this tragic incident.
