Hamilton Co, TN – Injury Crash on I-75 SB near E Ridge

Hamilton Co, TN (May 9, 2025) – A two-vehicle injury crash occurred Friday morning, May 9, on Interstate 75 SB before the I-24 interchange near East Ridge, leading to traffic disruptions in the area.

The crash happened around 8:35 a.m. on the southbound side of I-75, just before Exit 2 to I-24. According to reports from TDOT, the collision involved two vehicles and caused damage that required emergency response. The crash initially blocked the left shoulder, but quickly resulted in traffic slowing in nearby lanes due to onlooker delays and emergency vehicle access.

Responders from local fire and EMS units arrived on scene to assist those involved. At least one person sustained injuries and was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for further medical treatment. The full extent of their injuries has not yet been confirmed.

Traffic in the East Ridge area remained heavy while authorities worked to clear the scene and restore the flow of vehicles. The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
