Hernando County, FL – Collision Reported on I-75 near MM 300.5 Ends in Injuries

Hernando County, FL (March 19, 2023) – Hernando County Fire officials assisted the Florida Highway Patrol at the scene of an automobile accident that took place on Saturday evening and ended in injuries.

Just after 8:00 p.m. on March 18, authorities were notified that an accident had occurred on Interstate 75.

Preliminary reports show that vehicles collided on the southbound side of the interstate near mile marker 300.5. At least one vehicle went off the side of the roadway, with at least one person trapped inside.

Multiple fire rescue personnel in law enforcement vehicles responded to the scene to assist.

At least one person was extricated from their vehicle. Paramedics tended to injured victims and transported those who required further care to local hospitals. The crash remains under investigation.
