Hillsborough, FL – Accident with Injuries Reported on I-75 near Gibsonton Dr
Hillsborough, FL (January 4, 2023) – Authorities in Hillsboro were called to the scene of a traffic accident that took place on Tuesday afternoon that resulted in injuries. At around 12:15 p.m. on January 3, authorities were notified that a traffic accident occurred on the southbound side of Interstate 75.
According to reports from the Florida Highway Patrol, a traffic accident blocked the left lane on the southbound side of Interstate 75. The incident caused delays just north of mile marker 250 at Gibsonton Drive. Stop-and-go traffic extended back to US Highway 301 in Brandon as emergency crews worked to clear the scene.
The Florida Department of Transportation reported extensive delays in the area.
At least one person was transported to a local hospital for the treatment of injuries following the crash.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
