Jackson, GA – Larry McDonald Memorial Highway crash near GA-16 Ends in Injuries

Jackson, GA (February 3, 2023) – A traffic accident took place in the Jackson area that prompted the response of emergency officials across Butts County.

On February 1, the Georgia Highway Patrol was notified that a traffic crash took place on Larry McDonald Memorial Highway, Interstate 75.

Reports provided by authorities show that at 3:45 p.m., a traffic accident shut down two of the left lanes of travel on the northbound side of the interstate. Authorities responded to the scene and closed off the roadway near Georgia State Highway 16.

Authorities went to work on removing the damaged vehicles and debris from the scene of the crash.

At least one person suffered injuries in the accident and had to be transported to a local hospital.

At this time, the circumstances surrounding the traffic accident are being investigated.
