Jonesboro, GA – Injuries Follow Traffic Wreck on I-75 near Tara Blvd

Jonesboro, GA (January 16, 2023) – Emergency officials were dispatched to the scene of a traffic crash that took place in the Jonesboro area that resulted in injuries. On January 14, the Georgia Highway Patrol was notified that a vehicle collision had taken place on Interstate 75.

According to law enforcement, at around 6:20 p.m., a traffic collision blocked two lanes of travel on the northbound side of Interstate 75. The incident caused delays in the area near Tara Boulevard.

Georgia Highway Patrol and firefighters reported to the scene and closed off the roadway as they provided assistance to the injured victims. Firefighters in the police remove debris from the roadway to allow through traffic.

EMS reported to the crash site to care for injured parties and transfer them to area hospitals.

At this time, the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
