Knoxville, TN – Crash with Injuries Reported on I-75 near Merchant Dr

Knoxville, TN (March 9, 2023) – The  Tennessee Highway Patrol was notified that a motor vehicle accident took place on Wednesday evening, March 8, that ended in injuries. At around 6:15 p.m., calls for help were received regarding a crash that occurred on Interstate 75.

Authorities responded to the scene of the accident and located damaged vehicles along the northbound side of the interstate near merchant Drive. The Tennessee Department of Transportation reported that the incident caused severe delays in traffic that extended back to Interstate 640.

Highway Patrol and firefighters worked quickly to clear the scene of the accident.

At least one person suffered injuries and had to be transported to a local hospital for further medical care.

Investigations surrounding the accident are currently underway.
