Lake City, FL – Cyclist Killed in Truck Collision on I-75 Near SR 47 

Lake City, FL (January 28, 2025) – A tragic accident early Tuesday morning, January 27 claimed the life of a cyclist in Lake City on Interstate 75 near State Route 47. The Florida Highway Patrol reported that the incident occurred around 8 a.m. when a truck towing a trailer exited Interstate 75. As the truck turned right onto the state road, it struck a 64-year-old man who was riding his bicycle southbound in the crosswalk.

Emergency responders arrived promptly, but the cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene due to the severity of his injuries. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s name as they work to notify his family. Traffic in the area was briefly disrupted as investigators processed the scene. Officials continue to look into the circumstances of the crash.
