Lexington, KY – Five-Vehicle Truck Wreck with Injuries Reported on I-75 near Southern Split

Lexington, KY (January 29, 2023) – A major traffic crash took place in the Lexington area early Friday morning that caused severe delays and injuries. At around 2 a.m. on January 27, authorities were notified that a traffic crash had occurred on Interstate 75.

According to officials, a total of five vehicles, including three semi-trucks, collided on Interstate 75 in the area near the southern split.

The incident caused the northbound lane of travel to be shut down for several hours as emergency crews worked to clear the scene.

An unknown number of injured parties were provided transportation to local medical facilities for the treatment of injuries following this accident.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
