Lexington, KY – Severe Injury Crash on I-75 S Ramp at N Broadway

Lexington, KY (January 10, 2026) – A serious crash left one person with life-threatening injuries early Wednesday morning on the ramp from North Broadway to the southbound Interstate 75 in Lexington.

Lexington Fire Department crews responded around 4:19 a.m. on January 7 after receiving reports of a crash with entrapment on the on-ramp. When crews arrived, they found a heavily damaged vehicle and signs of an engine compartment fire.

Before firefighters arrived, a bystander pulled the driver from the vehicle due to the fire risk. Emergency responders then provided immediate medical care. Officials said the driver suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to the emergency room for treatment. The driver’s identity has not been released.

Authorities closed the on-ramp while investigators documented the scene and determined how the crash occurred. O
