Lowndes County, GA – Three-Vehicle Wreck on I-75/MM 17 Results in One Injury

Lowndes County, GA (June 4, 2024) – On Tuesday morning, June 4th, a three-vehicle collision on I-75 near mile marker 17 in Lowndes County resulted in injuries. The accident occurred around 11:54 a.m., according to the Georgia State Patrol (GSP). Reports indicate that all three vehicles were traveling south in the outside lane when traffic unexpectedly slowed. One driver failed to slow down, causing a chain-reaction crash. The impact pushed all three vehicles forward, with the vehicle at the rear becoming fully engulfed in flames. First responders from the GSP and local fire department quickly arrived at the scene. The driver of the burning vehicle was rescued and transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities are investigating the cause of the initial slowdown that led to the accident.
