Lowndes, GA – 11-Year-Old Girl Killed, Several Injured in I-75 Multi-Car Crash
Lowndes, GA (May 22, 2024) – Tragedy struck on May 22nd when an 11-year-old girl was killed, and several minors were injured in a multi-vehicle crash on I-75. The accident occurred when a vehicle fleeing from a Lowndes County Sheriff’s deputy collided with another car. The impact resulted in a multi-vehicle pileup, involving the fleeing vehicle, the other car, and the deputy’s vehicle. The fleeing vehicle had seven occupants, including the deceased 11-year-old, a 15-year-old, a 14-year-old, and two infants who suffered serious injuries. All injured parties were transported to Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida, and South Georgia Medical Center for treatment. The driver of the fleeing vehicle has been taken into custody. The incident is under thorough investigation.
