Macon, GA – Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Sedan on I-75 Near Pio Nono Ave. On-Ramp

Macon, GA (May 11, 2025) – A fatal pedestrian accident occurred early Sunday morning, May 11, on I-75 in Bibb County, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office. The tragic incident occurred shortly before 6:00 a.m. near the Pio Nono Avenue on-ramp. Investigators report that a 34-year-old man driving a 2008 Honda Accord was heading northbound when he struck a pedestrian walking in the travel lane. Emergency personnel arrived quickly but sadly pronounced the pedestrian deceased at the scene. The victim’s identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin. Authorities closed several lanes during the preliminary investigation and are working to determine why the pedestrian was in the roadway at that time.
