Manatee Co, FL – Injury Crash on I-75 N, Beyond Exit 213: Univ Pkwy

Manatee Co, FL (March 13, 2025) – A car injury crash occurred on Thursday evening on I-75 North, beyond Exit 213: University Pkwy, causing significant traffic disruptions. The incident, reported by the Florida Highway Patrol, happened at approximately 6:45 p.m. and resulted in the blocking of two left lanes. Authorities responded promptly to the scene.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the collision involved multiple vehicles, including a sedan and a pickup truck, and resulted in several injuries. Emergency responders, including paramedics and firefighters, quickly arrived at the scene. The driver of the sedan was transported to Blake Medical Center with serious injuries, while the driver of the pickup truck was confirmed dead at the scene. Another vehicle involved sustained significant damage, and its occupants were also taken to the hospital for medical treatment.

Firefighters had to extricate one of the drivers from the wreckage. The crash caused significant delays as crews worked to clear the wreckage and reopen the lanes. The incident was cleared by 8:30 p.m., but traffic remained backed up for some time.

The Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate the cause of the crash, and no charges have been filed at this time. Authorities urge drivers to exercise caution in the area and to stay alert while traveling through the scene of the crash.
