Manatee Co, FL – Motorcyclist Killed in Crash on I-75

Manatee Co, FL (May 7, 2025) – A fatal motorcycle crash occurred on Saturday afternoon along the northbound lanes of Interstate 75 (I-75) in Manatee County, resulting in the death of a male motorcyclist who was ejected during the collision. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened in the early afternoon hours near mile marker 220.

Preliminary reports indicate that the motorcyclist was riding in the center lane of I-75 when, under circumstances still being investigated, he collided with a passenger vehicle. The force of the impact caused the motorcyclist to be thrown from the bike, leading to severe traumatic injuries. Emergency personnel responded swiftly to the scene, including Manatee County EMS and fire rescue units. Despite immediate life-saving efforts, the rider was pronounced dead shortly after their arrival.

Firefighters secured the crash site, cleared the roadway, and helped manage fluid leaks and debris, while FHP troopers redirected traffic to maintain safety for other motorists. The passenger vehicle driver remained at the scene and fully cooperated with law enforcement. No charges have been filed, pending further investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
