Marietta, GA – Fatal Car Crash Reported on I-75 near Bells Ferry Rd Overpass Takes Life of Edgar Perez

Marietta, GA (February 23, 2023) – One man died following a fatal accident that took place in Marietta on Wednesday morning.

At approximately 5:30 a.m. on February 22, the Marietta Police Department and firefighters were called to provide assistance at the scene of an automobile accident on Interstate 75.

According to authorities, a collision involving a 2016 Toyota Sienna occurred on the northbound side of the interstate. As a result of the collision, the minivan struck a guard rail and went over a large embankment after flipping near the Bells Ferry Road overpass.

A man in the vehicle, 45-year-old Edgar Perez, was ejected. He suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A second victim involved in the accident, 43-year-old Blanca Manriquez-Rodriguez, suffered serious injuries. She was transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital for emergency care.

The crash remains under investigation of the sign.
