Marion Co., FL – Tractor-Trailer Driver Killed After Fiery Crash on I-75

Marion County, FL (October 21, 2025) – A tractor-trailer driver was killed on Sunday, October 19, following a fiery crash on southbound Interstate 75 near mile marker 370 in Marion County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).

The crash occurred shortly after 8:00 p.m., when the semi-truck veered off the road and onto the shoulder before colliding with a line of trees. Upon impact, the truck jackknifed, causing the tractor portion to separate from the trailer and ignite in flames. The fire consumed the rig’s front end before emergency crews could extinguish it.

FHP confirmed that the driver died at the scene. No other vehicles were involved, and no additional injuries were reported. The identity of the victim has not yet been released pending notification of family members.

The Marion County Fire Rescue and FHP traffic homicide investigators responded to the scene, closing lanes for several hours while conducting a detailed investigation into the cause of the crash.
