Marion County, FL – Truck Driver Killed in Fiery Crash on I-75 Near Orange Lake

Marion County, FL (October 23, 2025) – A tragic single-vehicle crash on Sunday night, October 19, claimed the life of a semi-truck driver on southbound Interstate 75 near mile marker 370, roughly two miles north of the County Road 318/Orange Lake interchange.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the tractor-trailer was traveling in the right lane shortly after 8 p.m. when, for reasons still under investigation, it veered off the roadway onto the right paved shoulder and struck a guardrail. The vehicle then continued south onto the grassy shoulder, where it collided with several trees before jackknifing.

Authorities said the crash caused part of the trailer to catch fire, and the cab was completely engulfed. The driver, who was the only occupant, did not survive. Officials are withholding the victim’s identity pending family notification and confirmation of employment details.

Investigators are working to determine what caused the truck to leave the roadway.

Our deepest condolences go out to the victim’s family and colleagues during this difficult time. The Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding this deadly crash.
