McMinn Co, TN – Two-Vehicle Injury Crash on I-75 N at MM 49

McMinn Co, TN (May 13, 2025) – A two-vehicle injury crash occurred on Tuesday morning on northbound Interstate 75 at mile marker 49 near Athens in McMinn County. The crash was reported at approximately 6:39 a.m. Eastern Time and brought emergency response teams to the scene.

According to local officials, the crash involved two vehicles traveling northbound when, under unknown circumstances, they collided near MM 49. First responders, including EMS, fire rescue, and the Tennessee Highway Patrol, were dispatched immediately to the scene. Upon arrival, they located one of the vehicles with visible damage and at least one injured individual requiring medical attention.

EMS personnel provided treatment at the scene before transporting the injured party to a nearby hospital. The extent of the injuries is currently unknown. Firefighters assisted in securing the area and managing traffic while authorities conducted a preliminary investigation.

Traffic in the area was slowed as crews worked to clear the vehicles and restore the flow of traffic along I-75 North.
