Micanopy, FL (March 19, 2025) – A serious multi-vehicle crash occurred early Wednesday morning on Interstate 75 southbound at mile marker (MM) 374. The incident happened at approximately 2:41 a.m., prompting a swift response from emergency personnel who arrived at the scene by 2:53 a.m. to assist.
According to a preliminary report from the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the collision involved several vehicles, and at least one person sustained injuries requiring urgent medical attention. Paramedics on the scene provided immediate treatment to the injured individual before transporting them to UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville for further evaluation and care. The extent of the injuries remains unknown at this time.
Firefighters from the Micanopy Fire Department played a crucial role in the rescue operations, assisting with the extraction of victims from the wrecked vehicles and ensuring that the accident scene was safely secured.
